- This program introduces Wayne State University and University of Detroit Mercy’s medical, nursing, occupational therapy pharmacy, physical therapy, physician assistant social work and dental students to team care for adults 50 years and older. - According to the US Census Bureau, there are nearly 90,000 older adults residing in Detroit and the numbers continue to grow. There is a need for health care professionals, who not only embrace the role of community and empower social change, but also adept at interdisciplinary teamwork to assess and care holistically for this population.
